Currently, Transvenous (Catheter) Pulmonary Embolectomy is not covered by Medicare as it is still considered experimental. CMS is proposing to remove National Coverage Decision 240.6 and allow the Medicare Administrative Contractors to determine coverage.
Providers should monitor their MAC regarding coverage determinations.
